The English Bath Renovation

This renovation transformed a dated, compartmentalized primary bathroom into a calm, light-filled retreat organized around simplicity, comfort, and natural materials. While the overall footprint remained largely unchanged, the layout was reimagined to improve openness, circulation, and the relationship between the bathroom and adjoining bedroom.
The design centers on a freestanding soaking tub positioned along the primary axis of the space, paired with a generous glass-enclosed shower and a custom white oak double vanity. Painted wall paneling, marble countertops, polished chrome fixtures, and a restrained palette of warm woods and soft neutrals create a timeless character, while carefully layered daylight and lighting reinforce a quiet, residential atmosphere.
Every element was considered to reduce visual clutter and support everyday use, from concealed storage and dedicated dressing space to individual vanity rugs and thoughtfully integrated accessories. The result is a bathroom that feels brighter, more generous, and more cohesive—balancing traditional architectural detailing with contemporary comfort to create a space that is both functional and enduring.
